Welcome to My New Blog
A bit about me
My name is Michelle and online I can be found as CreativeCritters, Michelle of CreativeCritters, and CreativeCrittersClay. You may have guessed by now that I’m kind of creative 😉 I love making things, all sorts of things! In the way of arts and crafts I’ve been sculpting in polymer clay for about 25 years and knitting and sewing for nearly as long. I’m very much into one of a kind creations with lots of intricate detail, like this whimsical little fantasy sculpture available in my ArtFire shop.

I also make jewelry, home decor (wall hangings, candle holders, etc.), stuffed animals, and cat toys.
This is one of my glow in the dark miniature wall hangings available in my Etsy Shop.

I always seem to have at least one, if not several projects going, many creations being made as gifts. I’ll be sharing pictures of many of my creations in my Gallery. Some are available for sale and some have been made as gifts, but if you see something you like, don’t hesitate to ask about it. I’m always happy to create custom orders!
So that’s the “business side” of what you can find here, but there’s so much more! I love to cook and bake, and eating healthy is a way of life for me, so I’ll be sharing some of my favorite recipes, along with info on healthy eating. And that goes hand in hand with my love of organic gardening. My gardens and greenhouse are where I get most of my ingredients for the delicious meals I make.
I’ve been gardening all my life, first as Grampa’s little helper (it was my job to save the worms when he turned the soil- lol), then in pots and any spare bit of ground I could find in my first small home, then back to Grampa’s garden plot, and now finally- the garden (and greenhouse!) of my dreams with all the room I could want. I’m an organic gardener and nothing makes me happier than when the neighbor calls to say she’s got another load of manure 🙂 I’ve just started getting more into permaculture, so it should be interesting to see how things grow this season and into the future. I’ll share gardening tips and tricks, how- to’s, and of course pics of all my yummy veggies.
So far we’ve got crafting, cooking, and gardening. But wait- there’s more! I’m also into fitness, working out on a regular basis and doing yoga daily. I’ll share some of my favorite YouTube instructors and info about working out. I do cardio (pretty much any and all varieties), strength training, pilates, barre, and yoga. I also enjoy getting outdoors and being active, especially with my dog.
And that would lead my to one of my biggest passions- my sweet and wonderful pets. What would I ever do without my furbabies? These creatures bring me such joy!
First there’s Calcifer, my 10 year Maine Coone Cat and constant companion. He still acts like a crazy little kitten and is the most loving, sweet natured, cuddly cat you could imagine. You will see plenty of this beautiful boy here!

And then there’s his little brother Ginko. He’s a super mellow 7 year old handsome (if a bit tubby) kitty. He’s incredibly laid back and loves Calcifer and his doggie brother Dewey Dude. Ginko is a cat who has never heard of “personal space” and loves nothing more than getting right up in my face (or the dog’s face). Makes me laugh every time 😀 He also likes to lay on top of his fluffy brother when it’s cold out. Good thing Calcifer loves him so much!

And then there’s Dewey Dude the Kid, my 4 year old German Shepherd/ Rottweiler mix. He is the BEST DOG EVER! He’s incredibly loving and affection, super patient with Ginko (he lets that cat do anything!), and very intelligent. Half the time he seems to know what I want before I even say anything. He also thinks he’s Mamma Hen to my dozen chickens. He DID help raise them up from day old chicks, and they seem to be as fond of him as he is of them.

So I think that pretty much hits the high points anyway. I have many interests and I love to keep learning, so as I make new discoveries and find healthier, more natural ways to live I’ll share that info with you. A big part of the reason I wanted to start this blog was because I realized just how much I’ve learned over the last several years, and how much better my life has become by implementing some of these healthy changes. If I can help even just one person feel better, reduce pain, or live a healthier life, then that’s just awesome.
So leave me a comment- let me know what you’re into. Gardening? Crafting? Animals? Cooking? Fitness? It’s all good!
Thanks for stopping by!
