Workout of the Day

Thorough Thursday Workout of the Day 4/16/20

Since I took yesterday off from working out to go shopping (first time in 2 months- quite an experience!) I figured I’d hit it hard today. This hour long sweat session covers all the bases, and I love how the cardio is adaptable to whatever equipment you have, or even no equipment if you just want to do floor cardio or walking.

Calcifer’s ready to do some step and strength!

Angie broke this one up into 10 minute cardio sections and 10 minute strength sections. I chose to use my step and the coffee table for some serious lower body toning and to really get my heart rate up. Naturally my fluffy workout partner was there to keep my motivation high 😉

The strength sections called for medium to heavy weights, and included body weight moves as well. As with all of Angie’s live workouts, a warm up and cool down were included. For some extra stretching I added on some lovely and relaxing Yin yoga for the lower body, which felt great after all that step cardio!

I hope you’re all doing well out there- staying fit mentally, physically, and spiritually. I just can’t say enough about the benefits of a regular exercise program that includes cardiovascular conditioning, strength work, stretching, and deep breathing. We only get one body, and in the end we’re the ones in control of our health and how we treat that body.

Be well, stay safe, and thanks for stopping by!

Workout of the Day

Workout of the Day 3/13/20 Low Impact Cardio

Since yesterday’s workout was more strength focused, today’s workout is pure cardio (although there is a good bit of toning in each of these videos, and I can really feel my abs with all the twisting moves). The weather is lousy- cold and rainy- so today ‘s definitely a good day to stay inside and get my step count in doing these low impact cardio workouts.

And this 30 minute Yin yoga practice focuses on the lower body, stretching legs, low back, and hips- just what I needed!

Hope you’re all having a great day!

Workout of the Day

Workout of the Day 2/18/20- Leg Day

I really focused on the legs today, and I know I’ll be feeling this tomorrow! I started things off with a 45 minute walk (the uphill route) with Dewey Dude. We kept up a fast pace and kept the “stop and sniff” intervals to a minimum. Definitely got the heart rate up and fired up all the muscles in the lower body.

Once I got home I jumped right into this low impact kickboxing, core, and leg strength workout. This kept the heart rate up while strengthening the lower body and core, without any equipment.

Then, as if that wasn’t enough, I topped it all off with PJ’s Glute Workout with Dumbbells. Yeah, this totally finished me off!

And then my treat for all that lower body abuse- or lower body love- a lovely Yin Yoga session, specifically made for Leg Day.

Hope you’re all having an awesome day!

Thanks for stopping by!
